Description:

SchoolGuard is a mobile panic button application designed for K-12 school personnel. In the event of an active school shooting emergency, a teacher or staff member can easily activate the main panic button within the app. This action triggers an immediate alert to all federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who are part of the Hero911 Network, whether they are on duty or off duty and in close proximity to the school.
Moreover, all school staff members receive an intra-school alert simultaneously on their smartphones. This alert includes a mapped location of the initial emergency situation, although mapping functionality may be subject to cell coverage availability. Furthermore, nearby protected schools within a 5-mile radius also receive alerts regarding the incident.
Notably, SchoolGuard has been recognized for its role in emergency response by being featured in the AT&T FirstNet App Catalog as a valuable tool for first responders.
It is important to note that prolonged use of GPS tracking can significantly impact device battery life.
